The International Spring Fair raises funds for Children and Families Across Borders (CFAB) opened its doors for the 55th time on the 13th and 14th May 2014 at Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall. Every year over 80 Diplomatic missions take part by hosting a stall which sells products and food that are exclusive to their nation.
This year for the second time the Ambassador’s spouse Mrs Sadia Yaar and female staff of the embassy organised a stall to represent Afghanistan. The stall contained of Afghan traditional handicrafts, handmade silk shawls, silver jewelleries and home decorating materials made by Afghan women in Afghanistan. At the food hall Afghanistan had a table and offered different popular Afghan dishes.
The Fair attracted 6000 visitors and the Embassy was able to sell different Afghan products which were admired by visitors. The earnings made in this Fair were donated to support the charity for Children and Families Across Borders.
