98th Independence Day and Eid ul Adha celebrated at the Embassy of Afghanistan in London
Speaking at the event, HE Ambassador Jawad sent his warmest wishes to the Afghan community in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Ambassador Jawad congratulated everyone who performed the Hajj this year, stressing that Eid is a great opportunity to extend compassion and kindness to those less fortunate.
The Embassy of Afghanistan hosted Afghan National Cricket Team
The Embassy of Afghanistan hosted a warm reception in honour of the Afghanistan National Cricket Team and invited some members of the Afghan community in Great Britain. The event took place at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel on July 8th. It was important for the Embassy of Afghanistan to show support to the National Team for their game against Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) at Lords, which took place on July 11th. In addition, the Afghanistan Embassy staff and diplomats attended the game amongst the Afghan community of London. Unfortunately, the game had to be cancelled due to the rain.
Changing the Narrative on Afghanistan (18th October)
With kind permission of The Master of Marlborough College, Afghanaid is hosting a half-day conference including a photography exhibition, discussions with leading experts on Afghanistan and a performance of Afghan music.
Saturday, 18th October
The photographic exhibition opens at 11.00 with conference registration from 11.00-13.30 in the Heywood Building. The conference will commence in Ellis Theatre from 14.00-19.00.
