President Karzai: US Should Seek an Environment of Common Understanding with other Countries on Afghanistan Situation
H.E. President Hamid Karzai met this afternoon with the United States Special Envoy to Afghanistan Daniel Feldman and US ambassador to Kabul, James Cunningham.
The American diplomats briefed the President on the recent progress in elections issue.
President Karzai said that as the US has been actively engaged since the beginning of the process, it is required that it makes strong efforts to take the process to a success in the interest of Afghanistan.
The President stressed that the process has dragged on beyond patience and the Afghan people are following it with great concern.
The President further added that Afghanistan must not be a ground for competition between countries and it is therefore important that the
US should seek an environment of common understanding with other countries.
The President once again stressed that Afghans impatiently need to see the process to come to a close and a new President and government inaugurated.
