New UK Ambassador to Afghanistan Presents Letter of Credence to President Ghani

New UK Ambassador to Afghanistan Presents Letter of Credence to President GhaniPresident Mohammad Ashraf Ghani accepted on Tuesday 26 may 2015 the credentials of Mrs. Karen Pierce, the new ambassador of the United Kingdom to Afghanistan.

The formal ceremony where Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani had also attended was followed by a meeting that focused on issues of enhanced bilateral relations, women’s rights, counter terrorism and a range of other issues of mutual interest.

Welcoming the new ambassador to Kabul, President Ghani thanked UK for all its cooperation with Afghanistan in various areas and wished the ambassador success in her new tenure.

In return, Ambassador Pierce assured the President of her utmost efforts to further expand the bilateral relations between the two countries.
