First Meeting of the Afghan National Action Plan United Nations Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security Implementation Stage

141215-1Afghan National Action Plan – United Nations Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security first meeting of the implementation stage was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The participants of this meeting were the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister, Deputy Ministers of Finance and Information and Culture, and various governmental entities.

Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Hekmat Khalil Karzai in his opening speech welcomed the participants and stated that: “This National Action Plan can only better the condition of women’s rights when there is political will, financial facilities, and effective coordination among all of the implementing entities of this plan.”

Minister of Women’s Affairs Mrs. Delbar Nazari talked regarding fulfillment of Afghanistan’s commitment in the Conference of London regarding the betterment of women’s living condition, and the implementation of the mentioned National Action Plan which was unveiled by the Afghan President in June 2015, and asked the various government entities for their full cooperation in the implementation of the mentioned plan.

Later on, Acting Deputy Finance Minister for Policies, Director of the Human Rights and International Affairs of Women of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs talked regarding the mentioned subject, and emphasized on prioritizing the first and second stages, and allocating budget for the mentioned plan.
