With foreign forces ending their military missions in Afghanistan, continued UK support, particularly to the Marshal Fahim Military Academy, has been crucial for Afghan security and counterterrorism operations. It was, therefore, with great pleasure that HE Ambassador Jawad met with General Sir Nicholas Patrick “Nick” Carter, Chief of the General Staff of the British Army, to thank him for his long-term commitment to Afghanistan.
Throughout the meeting, Ambassador Jawad highlighted the different ways in which UK support has aided the Afghan government, making it possible for the Afghan Security Forces to assume their security responsibilities from NATO. Moreover, Ambassador Jawad expressed his gratitude for the efforts and sacrifices that the UK and coalition forces have made to secure Afghanistan.
In return, General Sir Nicholas Patrick “Nick” Carter welcomed the newly appointed Ambassador to the UK, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a collaborative and cooperative relationship between the two countries.
