Afghan Foreign Minister Meets with the Special Envoy of International Organization of Migration for Afghanistan
H.E. Salahuddin Rabbani Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Mr. Richard Danzinger, Special Representative of IOM, today afternoon.
In the beginning, the special representative of IOM for Afghanistan thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the opportunity to meet and congratulated the Minister for his appointment as the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and said: “The International Organization for Migration has a long relationship with Afghanistan and your country has huge importance to this organization. We will fully cooperate with Afghanistan regarding migration affairs and are also committed not only to cooperate with the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations but also with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding solving the problems of migrants”.
Later on, H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan thanked the IOM for its cooperation with Afghanistan and added that with no doubts, the IOM’s active cooperation with regard to migration issues, which has been a huge issue for Afghanistan is worth the appreciation. The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Afghanistan will not hesitate to any cooperation with IOM activities in Afghanistan.
H.E. the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan continued to express the Government and the people of Afghanistan’s concern regarding the deportation of Afghans from different countries and emphasized on their voluntary respectful reparation to their country.
At the end, Mr. Richard Danzinger while explaining various programs of IOM for Afghanistan requested the approval of Draft Labors Migration Policy from the Government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan which has lately been prepared in cooperation with International Labor Organization.
