Charge’d’ Affaires Ameri attends the “Afghanistan and Iraq wars memorial”

Mr. Liaquet Ali Ameri Charge’d’ Affaires of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in London attends the “Afghanistan and Iraq wars memorial” ceremony in London where Her Majesty the Queen unveiled the memorial at Victoria and Embankment Garden in central London on Thursday 9th March 2017.

The memorial sculpture is built to commemorate the civilian and armed forces personnel who served and died in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.  

According to Ministry of Defence more than 800 UK military personnel and civilians died in the three wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The British armed forces lost 456 personnel and 101 civilian died in Afghanistan.

The government and people of Afghanistan thank the great nation of Great Britain and sincerely honour the sacrifices they have made for the people of Afghanistan.
