Afghanistan’s Third Periodic Report Preparation Process on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women Starts

The third periodic report preparation process of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women-1392 started today in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The event was lead by Deputy Foreign Minister Mr. Hekmat Khalil Karzai and the participants included Deputy Ministers of the Ministries of Justice, Women’s Affairs, and Information and Culture, Parliamentarians, United Nations Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Organization Chief, International Human Rights Organizations Managers and Directors, Afghanistan Human Rights Commission and Civil Society Official.

The participants delivered speeches on CIDA international convention reporting system action program implementation supervision, how the report should be presented, Afghanistan supporting women and children human rights, topics and necessary preparations, providing technical facilities, utilizing inter-ministerial reporting mechanism, continued coordination with governmental entities, Afghanistan supporting United Nation’s recommendations, and comparative studies of domestic laws and their compliance with international pledges.
